Redhawk Council produces four of the largest heritage celebrations in the Northeast. The Arts Council also hosts festivals, workshops, theater presentations, and educational programs that address stereotypes and foster an awareness of Native cultures from a historical standpoint, with a focus on contemporary cultural practices.
The Council presents programs within the educational system to help students and educators gain a better understanding of Native American history and the diverse cultures represented within Native America. The Council also encourages educators to re-think the outdated curriculum and apply some firsthand knowledge shared by Native artists and educators.
The Council creates venues for Native artists to share their art forms with the public and each other, providing opportunities to become financially self-reliant. By contracting artists for educational programs, lectures, and festivals for various organizations, the Council helps support the First Nations artist community.
