In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War, Thinkery & Verse will present Liberty Madness: Scenes from a Revolution, a 90-minute family-friendly live stage play of America’s past. Choose from three cities in Middlesex County: New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, and Piscataway.
This live stage play tells an epic story through shadows and illuminations, master storytelling, and live music, to understand the people who lived through the American Revolution 250 years ago. William Franklin, the Loyalist son of Benjamin Franklin, served as the last colonial Governor of New Jersey and remained steadfastly loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolution. His refusal to support the Patriot cause put him in direct conflict with his father, who became one of the Revolution’s most influential leaders. Their opposing allegiances ultimately led to a deep and lasting estrangement that was never reconciled.
