Marking 80 years since WWII’s end, this concert contrasts classical music before and after the war, showing how tragedy gave rise to bold new voices and transformed music into a source of renewal, hope, and deeper expression.
This event presents chamber works for flute, cello, and piano, tracing musical evolution before and after World War II, from the lush romanticism of Rachmaninoff to the bold innovations of Villa-Lobos and culminating in a work by 21st-century Grammy® Award winner Carlos Franzetti. The performance features concert flutist Laurel Zucker, Grammy-nominated pianist Allison Brewster Franzetti, and acclaimed cellist Mira Kang.
