Sound of America: From Revolution to the American Landscape — America 250 Educational Outreach Concert. Promotional poster designed for Veritas Music Institute.
Veritas Music Institute (formerly Veritas Youth Orchestra) will present two outreach concerts at public schools in Middlesex County, celebrating 250 years of American independence through music from the Revolutionary era to the present day.
Enjoy live chamber music, historical commentary, and interactive discussions with students.
Five outstanding New Jersey musicians—Vladimir Dyo, Yevgeniy Dyo, Jordan Fusco, Mira Kang, and Allison Brewster Franzetti—will perform for music students at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison and Hammarskjold Upper Elementary School in East Brunswick.
The program, “From Revolution to the American Landscape,” will feature music from the Revolutionary era, including Chester and Washington’s March, alongside works reflecting America’s musical heritage and landscapes, such as Mark O’Connor’s Appalachia Waltz, Carlos Franzetti’s Battery Park, and variations on Dvořák’s New World Symphony by David Auldon Brown. The program includes works by two living composers, connecting America’s historical musical traditions with contemporary artistic expression.
Through these performances, students will experience American history through music while engaging directly with professional musicians.
